Voix d’Exils is an information website dedicated to the free expression of migrants. Its main mission is to carry their voices through the content they publish on the site and on various online platforms. It also aims to build a bridge with the host country and to encourage constructive debate on migration and social issues. Voix d’Exils is one of the few media outlets in Switzerland to offer an inside view of migration and asylum, favouring first-hand accounts and the perspectives of those directly involved.
The Voix d’Exils media outlet is produced by an inter-cantonal integration programme, the result of a collaboration between the Établissement vaudois d’accueil des migrants, the Service de l’action sociale du Valais and ESPACE in Neuchâtel. The Voix d’Exils programme aims to foster the social and professional integration of the migrants who run it, by giving them the chance to develop transversal skills as well as specific communication skills (see the lists below). To this end, the programme offers a range of activities, which you can discover here.
Voix d’Exils is also a place of exchange and kindness, where writers have the chance to explore different aspects of migration and share their views constructively. Through debating complex subjects and pitching content ideas, editorial team members get to sharpen their critical thinking, build confidence and cultivate their sense of initiative. Personal development in the broadest sense is thus central to the programme, helping participants to overcome certain personal obstacles, among other things.
